"Dux comes dux in fuga" is a Latin phrase that translates to "The leader (dux) as a companion (comes) in flight (fuga)." This phrase is often used to describe a situation where a leader is seen fleeing alongside their followers, rather than leading or protecting them. It can be interpreted as a criticism of a leader who abandons their responsibilities in a time of crisis. **

The Dux and Comes were determined through a combination of military prowess, political influence, and loyalty to the Roman Emperor. The Dux was typically a military commander appointed by the Emperor to lead a specific region's army, while the Comes was a high-ranking official responsible for civil administration and military command. Both positions required individuals to demonstrate their ability to maintain order, protect the empire's interests, and uphold the Emperor's authority. Promotion to these prestigious roles often involved a mix of merit, connections, and successful military campaigns. **

The Dux and Comes were determined in the late Roman Empire through a combination of military prowess, political influence, and the favor of the emperor. The Dux was a military commander responsible for a specific region or province, while the Comes was a high-ranking official who served as a companion or attendant to the emperor. Both positions were typically filled by individuals who had proven themselves in battle, demonstrated loyalty to the emperor, and had the support of influential figures within the imperial court. The appointment to these positions was ultimately at the discretion of the emperor, who would choose individuals he believed could effectively govern and defend the empire's territories. **

In a fugue, the Dux and the Comes are typically the same length, with the Dux presenting the main subject first and the Comes following with the same subject in a different voice. This creates a dialogue between the two voices, with the subject being passed back and forth throughout the composition. The length of the Dux and Comes can vary depending on the composer and the specific fugue, but they are usually of equal duration to maintain the balance and structure of the piece. **

No, paragliding does not work solely through wind energy. While wind plays a crucial role in paragliding by providing lift and allowing the glider to stay airborne, the sport also relies on the pilot's skill in controlling the glider and using thermals (rising columns of warm air) to gain altitude. Additionally, the pilot can use the glider's speed and the shape of the terrain to maintain flight, meaning that paragliding is not solely dependent on wind energy. **
